In the spirit of exploration, Holly Klintworth, Head Distiller at Bass & Flinders Distillery, has selected this single cask brandy for its unique character, intrigue, lingering flavours, and above all for its ability to showcase how exceptional Australian brandy can be.

Handcrafted and carefully aged in the finest, traditional Limousin oak casks, the Distiller’s Selection Single Cask brandy has been delicately matured for 6 years, to craft a full-bodied, balanced spirit, which is both rich and complex with refined elegance.

The base spirit was produced in-house, merging together the old world with the new, using a traditional Charentaise double distillation method and gas fired alembic pot still, while celebrating a quintessentially Australian grape variety, Chardonnay.

Sourced from a single vineyard, this delicate and elegant grape variety has been chosen to retain the unique characteristics of its local terroir, and for its exceptional ageing potential.

With dried fruit, fragrant tea and perfumed floral aromas, this exceptional brandy has a rich palate of raisins, orange zest and toffee notes that smooth the palate, adding weight and structure, while the hint of nutmeg spice lingers long after the first warming sip.

Founded in 2009 with a vision to produce fine brandies and drawing inspiration from their surrounding winegrowing region on the Mornington Peninsula, Bass & Flinders continue to showcase their pioneering spirit by producing this first release, hand selected, fine brandy.

Bottled from a single cask, Lot 143, the Distiller’s Selection Single Cask brandy has been freshly disgorged in its purest, non-chill filtered form, to retain intensity of flavour and full weight.

One of only 140 bottles produced, this brandy truly is one of a kind.

Exclusively available from our Distillery Door. $199 for 700ml bottle. 48% alc/vol.

WHY CHOOSE US?

WE TAKE AN ARTISAN APPROACH TO DISTILLING

Bass & Flinders was one of the earlier established Australian distilleries, and the first distillery on the Mornington Peninsula. The inspiration for founding a distillery surrounded by vineyards was simple – stay true to our region through use of local produce wherever possible, and the distillation of grapes to produce fine spirits.

OUR PROCESS
WE'RE PROUD

Drawing inspiration from our home and our heritage, we are passionate about making uniquely Australian small-batch, craft spirits. We handcraft our grape-based eau de vie spirit right here at the distillery from both Shiraz grapes and Chardonnay grapes, which gives our product range a truly unique flavour profile.

Such a dedicated approach to distilling is rarely seen in the industry and offers you a first-hand experience from vine to bottle.

OUR STORY
FAMILY OWNED & RUN

Bass & Flinders is a family owned and run distillery, dedicated to the true craft of distilling. We are on a constant journey of discovery, developing new styles of gins, brandies and liqueurs. We are always scouting for unique, native botanicals that capture the essence of our local flora and define our true sense of place. As pioneers of the Gin Masterclass in Australia, we are passionate about sharing our knowledge with craft spirits enthusiasts, from the art of distillation through to the ingredients and native botanicals found in our own backyard. It’s our aim to help craft spirits fans understand just what makes Australian spirits so unique and most important of all, to enjoy them!

We are the ‘Spirit of the Mornington Peninsula’.
